"OUTSTANDING – Staying strong in an unstable world"
Six Sessions on Paul's Epistle to the Philippians
Living as apprentices of Christ was as much of a challenge in the 1st century as it is today. Surrounding influences could sway you off course; the pressure to conform to the prevailing culture, personal frustrations and disappointments, the inconsistency of fellow Christians and some of life’s hard knocks made it hard to keep on keeping on. Paul’s dynamic, joy-filled letter brought an explosion of hope to it’s first readers. And it can do the same for us......

About us

Chester Bible Focus came into being in 1992 as a result of several evangelical ministers and church leaders expressing a common concern and deep desire to bring Bible Exposition to Christians living within easy reach of Chester.

The aim is to provide a short, but in depth series of Bible Expositions given by noted speakers, normally over a series of three Tuesday evenings or three consecutive days each term. The expositions will be unashamedly ambitious, whilst at the same time relating and applying God’s Word to our lives for today’s world.

Typically the evening will begin with a short time of musical worship, followed by two presentations with an interval for refreshments. At the end there is opportunity for questions.

Previous speakers include Malcolm Duncan of Faithworks (June 2008) and Jeff Lucas (March 2008)

A charge is made of £2 per night, or £5 for a series of 3 nights. The usual venue is St Michael's Newton, but see the details for each event as this may vary.

The members of the organising committee are:
Brian Young (chair), Eric Potts (treasurer), Norman Goodwin, John Kirkland, Mike Wood
